General terms of service, privacy, and acceptable use for anyone visiting SIC Booking, the online reservation platform of the Student Innovation Center at the University of Alberta.
SIC Booking is an online platform operated by the Student Innovation Center (SIC) at the University of Alberta. It lets registered members of the U of A community reserve study rooms, borrow equipment, register for workshops, and submit student-club project applications.
This general policy applies to every visitor to the site — including guests who are not signed in. Members who log in are additionally bound by our Center Policy, which governs on-site conduct and physical resource use.
We collect only what is needed to operate the booking service: your name, University of Alberta email (CCID), account role, and the bookings, applications, and files you submit through the platform.
Your data is stored securely and used only to deliver the service, communicate about your bookings, and administer the Student Innovation Center. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
All handling of personal information follows the University of Alberta's information-management framework and applicable Alberta privacy legislation (FOIP). See the U of A's Information & Privacy Office for the university-wide policy.
By using SIC Booking, you agree that you will not:
Violations may result in suspension of your SIC Booking account, forfeiture of reservations, and referral to the University of Alberta's Student Conduct policies .
Accounts on SIC Booking are restricted to holders of a valid @ualberta.ca email address. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Report suspected unauthorized use to SIC staff immediately.
We support sign-in with your U of A Google account and with email + password. Password-reset requests are rate-limited and use single-use, time-limited tokens.
Questions about this policy, privacy concerns, or requests to access or correct your personal information can be directed to the Student Innovation Center via the Contact page.
This general policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the current version.
